My condolences to his family.
How do they know it was refurbished? It could have been a new one...oops...
Umm...Apperently, they just did. If you read the headlines, it says "Halo 3 Legendary edition sold out in the UK". I brought one, and I'm a happy man.
Go on Ugly American! I'm getting Halo 3 console (£280) Legendary Edition (£60), regular edition (£40) and the special edition pad with a MC figurine (£50)...that's £430...that's around $860. Hey man, I am my own charity....
"...Expect a flaming forum war to erupt any time soon..."
Oh my God, on News 4 gamers. You guys are seriously uncool. I'm out of here.
No Pimp it's all the people hating...just look at yourself. MS did not purchase the fanbase: they were fans of Halo before it started getting overhyped, and there were Bungie fans well before Halo. Once again people like you are simply jealous that you don't have a game you can get THAT excited about. Do yourself a favour. Buy a 360, and buy Halo 3, and enjoy the game. You know you want to.
And don't talk about host advantage like it's a big deal. Halo 2 had host advantag...
Just about every game that comes out now is aiming to achieve that "pick and play" gameplay. The whole success of the Wii is because it is a "pick-up and play" console. Halo definitly got it right (pink guns and all).
I totally agree. I don't think Halo has a bad story, but it's not that special. It's the setting, the enviornments, the characters, the art design e.t.c. that all appeal to me. However, I am definitly curious to see where the story is going.
Don't all hardcore gamers want to be 12 year olds? Isn't that why we still play video games? And don't all 12 year olds want to be grown ups e.g. playing hardcore games?
You've definitly never played Halo if you think the intended audience is 12 year olds. Ofourse it does appeal to alot of kids and youngsters, but most kids I meet on Halo don't even follow the story. Don't forget that Halo 3 is rated a mature game. And Halo CE was VERY bloody, but IMO the blood effects in ...
I didn't say Halo was bigger than Star Wars you mighty douche (although I prefer halo universe to Star War's ultra-cheesy world) I was using Star Wars as an example of a franchise that has been branded beyond any other interlectual property, yet no one accuses Start Wars fans as being "brought" by hype.
I know it's really just fanboys being pissed off that a game they don't like is receiving so much attension, and is pretty much THE game of these last two console gens...
Quite funny. he makes some interesting points about veterans and comparing there experiences to what we play in video games. Case point: I feel more like I'm playing with soldiers who are dying in Halo CE (not Hao 2...) than in any WW2 game I've played.
And I disagree with his opinion that halo fans have been "brought" by Microsoft's marketing machine. Why can't people understand that fans simply like certain aspects of certain franchises? Star Wars has been hyped...
Oh dear, looks like it won't be timed exclusive after all.
You've either never played the game, or you never passed the first boss. Or maybe you've been playing Sigma...
Seriouly, you cannot get very far in NG by button mashing. Neither can you hold the the button down for 5 seconds without getting slashed to bits.
New IP's? You mean like Heavenly Wank: True button mashing. Please. And isn't it too early to say whether NG2 is a rehashed NG? Personally, I want more NG gameplay. It' proven to work.

Wow £40 for an emotional expression...
Blood, and mo' blood...
What all real games should have.
Half-Life 2 is better than Bioshock IMO.
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
Lot's of games have hacking: Deus EX 2, KOTOR, although they didn't have hacking mini-games. KOTOR also had powers where you could turn enemies or beasts against other enemies. The other plasmids are basically electrocuting, burning, freezing...nothing new. Insect swarm was cool but useless, cyclone was also cool, but there was little use for it when you can simply freeze them and blast them in the face. Telekinesis was very cool, and well used but, Half Life 2 has already done that. I ...
Yeah, I recall what the XBox fanboy's said about Fatal Inertia BEFORE it went to the 360...they said it would be crap. Sony fanboy's said otherwise. Fatal Inertia goes 360, so the XBots laughed, and the Sony droids yelled hypocrisy.
Well, I have played the demo of Fatal inertia, and I definitely won't be buying it.
You don't have a gamertag, let alone have played Bioshock. If any game is overhyped, it's Bioshock, considering how the developers said it would re-invent the FPS genre. Pfft. My a$$. Bioshock is linear and average. But show me one comment where Bungie themselves said "Halo 3 will re-invent FPS games"?
